GliSODin® is a unique non-genetically modified melon extract naturally rich in superoxide dismutase (SOD), combined with wheat protein to protect its SOD activity within the intestinal cells. GliSODin was developed by Isocell Laboratories, based in Paris, France. Isocell Laboratories is a leading company in anti-aging medicine, clinical research, and dermatological advancement and is the owner of GliSODin’s two US patents.
SOD, also known as the “Enzyme of Life”, catalyzes our natural antioxidant defense system, boosts immunity, and reduces accelerated aging. The production of SOD decreases with age, causing an increase in susceptibility to free radical damage, and thus makes GliSODin an essential supplement for the maintenance of good health and well-being. Oral administration of SOD without the protective barrier of gliadin has been proven ineffective. This is due to the deactivation in the stomach, causing the enzyme to lose its antioxidant capacity. However, studies have shown that GliSODin, which combines SOD from melon with gliadin, will temporarily protect the SOD during its passage through the gastro-intestinal tract to reach the small intestine for absorption.
